Stainless Steel XM19, or Nitronic 50, is a high-performance alloy consisting mainly of iron, 20–23% chromium, 12–15% nickel, with traces of manganese, nitrogen, and other constituents. It possesses excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater and acid environments. XM19 exhibits excellent strength, wear and fatigue resistance, toughness, and resistance to oxidation. Mechanical properties are up to a yield strength of 520 MPa and tensile strength of 860 MPa. XM19 fasteners thus find applications in high-stress, high-temperature, and corrosive conditions in the industry.
